Editorial independence
CountryWhy independently publishes issue-led reporting and does not endorse parties, candidates, political ideologies, companies or investment products. We describe confirmed decisions and documented competing interpretations without instructing readers what to believe or vote for. Where evidence is insufficient we say so rather than filling the gap with an attractive narrative.
Traceable sources
Every in-depth analysis should identify an official or first-party source, the date or measurement period and the meaning of the statistic. When a contested claim comes from a politician, lobbyist or commentator, attribution belongs in the text. We prefer original documents and link them, with additional reputable reporting where useful.
Substantial local value
We will not flood search engines with low-value auto-translations, syndicated copies or mechanically multiplied city and language pages. Each country desk must answer locally significant questions with local records and original explanations. An empty country desk is shown as preparation only and is not indexed in search until substantive reporting exists.
Corrections, conflicts and advertising
Readers may submit a correction citing the article and specific mistake. Important figures and disputed quotations should be rechecked against the earliest accessible source. We may eventually monetise with appropriately labelled advertising or disclosed sponsorships, but no advertiser can change the mathematical basis of a calculation or the content of an evidence register. No advertisements are active on this new site at launch.
What these reports do not do
CountryWhy does not provide personalised tax, medical, legal or investment advice. We cannot guarantee that any forecast will happen. For decisions that affect your rights, employment or finances, verify the controlling documents with the relevant institution or qualified local professional.
